Usenet uses a distributed network that allows people to post email-chains to different "newsgroups" that you can subscribe to. Usenet is a very expensive service, however, and has been on the decline ever since an event coined Eternal September. In the modern day, Usenet is rarely used by even the most elite of computer geeks, and is mostly a distribution engine for Russian child pornography, and Warez.
