It seems the current logo is a derivative work of Gentoo logo licensed under CC-BY-SA-2.5 according to Wikipedia. Some copyright/trademark laws may also apply to the 4chan and Gentoo logo. You need to license the logo under similar CC-BY-SA license, so pick your poison. CC-BY-SA-4.0 International is the latest one, just tag it on the file page and attribute Gentoo and 4chan + trademarks and mention it being a derivative work. It should also be compatible with 2.5. - Added a section to the file page about that. AMIDOINITRITE? --Placebo (talk) 11:05, 11 February 2014 (EST)
- I fixed it up a little, but you did well with it. By the way, please consider the Free Art License for future original content (File:Google-botnet-logo.png) unless you want your content to remain in public domain/WTFPL. There's a small template for it already, see Template:FAL. Since Google's logo is in public domain, there's no need to attribute this time but you seemed to do so anyway, which is okay. :) WubTheCaptain (talk) 19:32, 13 February 2014 (EST)
Hate to bug you but File:Installgentoo-wiki-favicon-r1.png also needs a license. WubTheCaptain (talk) 19:47, 13 February 2014 (EST)
- Don't hate, just ask. Also, you should really add some licences to the dropdown menu on the file upload page. Not entirely sure how that's done with MediaWiki. If I can find a way to do that as a normal user I will try to. --Placebo (talk) 10:59, 14 February 2014 (EST)
- It's done with MediaWiki:Licenses but I cannot change the page since I'm not a sysop on this wiki. More ideally, {{int:license}} would also be changed in MediaWiki:License to be a header like you've done == {{int:license}} ==. WubTheCaptain (talk) 12:14, 14 February 2014 (EST)
