So this is how it ends. Not with a bang, but with a whimper.

Time has not been kind in the decade and change since this wiki was first founded, and despite our best efforts, large swathes of the information herein are now either horrifically outdated or worse, totally irrelevant in today's technology landscape. Since this wiki's founding, hundreds of anonymous contributors have helped to make this place the hive of scum and villainy that we're proud of, but now it's time to move on to bigger and better things.

The original InstallGentoo.com was intended to be a part of a much wider network of services provided for imageboard degenerates, like E-mail hosting, a private tracker, image sharing, a pastebin clone, an FTP server and a small handful of video game servers. Hell, the original wiki exists now in limbo, it's owner having gone missing after no longer being able to commit time to the project.

All of those efforts fell by the wayside for one reason or another, but in keeping with the original spirit, we would still like to be part of a wider network of information sharing online. Most of the active general threads have already created their own websites or indexes to catalogue relevant, up-to-date information, and we will link to them below, along with supplementary resources for the topics mostly broadly discussed on this wiki.

This site will remain online until further notice as an archive and a window into a different time in imageboard history, for those of you unlucky enough not to have been there for it.

If you've read all this, and still want to contribute, please read the guide to editing this wiki before doing so. Please refrain from creating new pages.
